SU Parent Project Overview:
Children with developmental delays are at risk for experiencing behavior problems or other difficulties at home and school. Parents may also be at risk for associated child rearing stress and burden. The SU Parent Project is evaluating if the 12-week parent class, the Incredible Years Early Childhood Series, helps parents use more effective strategies to raise their young children with developmental problems and create more positive parent-child bonds. The Incredible Years is a group-based class and includes about 8-12 families per session. We evaluate family and child outcomes through home visits, interviews, and questionnaires. Parents who participate in this class have children between 2-5 years old with developmental or behavioral concerns.
